Welcome to Camp Big Mac.
We lost a friend and life long scouter, and the Big Mac Camp Director, Bill Darrough passed away on Friday, January 18th. Troop 996 has a wonderful memorial to him on their home page.
In the words of Mary Boden (Darrough): “Thank you for all of your support. I’m pretty sure we have the best friends and family in the entire world.”
REUNION PHOTOS ARE HERE!
Good things come to those who wait. While it took me longer than I hoped to get the pictures together, they are finally here. There are a lot, so take your time and enjoy. Due to camera clocks not being synchronized, the photos are not in perfect chronological order. Each preview page has a link to the original hi-res photos should you want to download them. If you have more photos please let us know so we can add them to the collection.

Welcome to the new web site for Camp Big Mac! One of the major new features is an online reservation system for the Camp. You can see the current month to the right; if you go to the Reservations page you can see the rest of the schedule and make a reservation. We hope you find everything you are looking for. If you have any questions please use the form on the Contact Us page. If you have used the Camp before, or after your next stay, please sign the Guest Book.
Run by The Claude McDonald Foundation, a Virginia non-profit organization, the 45+ acre youth camp has been serving Northern Virginia and its surrounding communities since 1952. Camp Big Mac is firmly dedicated to the future of our youth and equally dedicated to the enjoyment of the outdoors. Please look around this site, as it contains many details about the Camp, including photos and a Reservation Page.
We are always looking for enthusiastic new members, campers, volunteers and donations.
We are on the lookout now for some prospective Ordeal and Eagle projects! See Service Projects page for details.
